After recently completely the 46th Annual Maui Channel Swim from Lanai to Maui, Kimberly and her team were nevers so excited to see Kaanapali. The event was a relay from one island to another, with Kaanapali Beach as their final destination. Having partaken in this event, Kimberly has a very different appreciation for the area she calls home.
What’s happening in the vicinity? Similar to the growth worldwide, Maui is also encountering small & well planned changes. In the Lahaina area, the drafting & expansion of the Lahaina Bypass, Kaanapali toleration of the Revitalization Project, and the West Maui Hospital & Medical Center are all underway.
For safety reasons, among others, the Bypass is enduring construction at the south end of Lahaina. Running through the Launiupoko district, the project is rapidly advancing. Because Hawaiian Dredging has been leading the assignment, the proposed changes include a new road alignment, bridge, south connector, and intersection improvements in the the Launipoko area.
The face lift to Kaanapali will alter the two existing golf courses. The Kai & Royal courses are well renowned golfing vicinities. However, due to many other progressing Maui activities, golf has been decelerating for some time. Part of the scope of proposed work includes relocating the club house, adding boutiques, additional housing, parking structure, and oceanfront condos on the North side of Black Rock. Although it is several years away, there are lots of questions regarding the growth of Kaanapali as well as added increased value due to the upcoming Revitalization Project .
West Maui Medical Hospital & Medical Center was progressing until mid 2017. Due to unspecified reasoning, it is currently at a halt.
Although Kimberly and her team are happy to be on solid ground, they are already training for next year. In this same event, they anticipate the repeat of emotions that were endured during Labor Day 2017 in Kaanapali.
